Thank you for taking the time to visit our website, here’s some background information about us here at Bear Creek Home Inspections and how we got our start.
First things first, my name is Blake Hughes and I have lived here in the Rogue Valley for over twenty years, eighteen of which I have spent building and remodeling homes as a general contractor. Ten years ago, my wife and I bought our first house and opted not to have a home inspection. Big mistake! Not too long after we unpacked the last box, the problems began:
1. We found a broken water pipe from the kitchen sink that was leaking gray water into the crawl space.
2. Learned our electrical panel was notorious for starting house fires. Oh yes, we slept well that night!
3. Shocked to discover that our HVAC ductwork had broken free of its restraints and was lying on the ground, where a hoard of rodents had been able to claw their way inside.
We became quite convinced that a home inspection would have been a wise decision. This experience helped me on my path to becoming a home inspector, and is why I am committed to supporting you when you decide which house you will make a home.
When I am not working, I love to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings we have here in Southern Oregon. My family and I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, riding our bikes, paddle boarding, and kayaking in the summer.
